Fashion Week Goes to the Dogs

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Again, the NY Times whips it out with some hilarious no-holds-barred calling-it-like-it-is reviews this fashion week. Today's prize for best lede goes to Eric Wilson who writes: "It’s always such an annoyance that Fashion Week overlaps with the Westminster dog show, since few editors have time to keep up with the canine competition. A shame, too, considering there’s not that much difference between the two events—a bunch of preening poodles paraded around in a circle before an audience ready to point out their slightest flaws, or tell them they’re too fat."
