Cool Guys Sean Avery, Euan Rellie, and the Gilt Man Team Do Dinner

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Gilt Man, Gilt MANual, investment banker and man-about town Euan Rellie, and New York Ranger Sean Avery teamed up last night to host an intimate dinner at Manhattan's Fedora—restaurateur Gabe Stulman's newly-revamped classic West Village joint. We popped in for a bite and to celebrate fashion week with some old friends (Jared Flint, formerly editor of Nylon Guys, and Josh Peskowitz, former style director at Esquire.com—both are now on the Gilt Man team—P.S. they really know their stuff).

This is when the story gets fun.

So somehow, Racked winds up seated at the celebrity table—with Sean Avery, who, in addition to being a famous hockey player, once-upon-a-time interned at Vogue; Catherine Keener, one of everyone's most-favorite actresses ever; artist Tom Sachs who is currently working on a major fashion/accessories collaboration with a brand we're not sure we're allowed to name-drop yet; and David Neville of Rag & Bone (we're also fans of his because he's married to the most amazing makeup artist Gucci Westman). Seriously. We showed up and were like, "Hi, we have a blog." Then we ate tomato tarts, steak, fish, chocolate cake, berries, and cheesecake panna cotta and Tom Sachs gave us life/career advice. It was awesome.
