This is the first season in years that Lacoste will sit out of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York, but that doesn't mean that the brand is laying low for spring. Come April, Lacoste will unleash its latest designer apparel collaboration—we're a huge fan of the label's most recent shoe collab with 12 streetwear legends—with Catherine Malandrino. We popped over to the Cooper Square Hotel this morning for a sneak peek at the collection, which the release describes as:
...an unexpected encounter of two worlds with a shared French heritage. The fusion of masculine sportif with a feminine perspective creates a new aesthetic—sensual, strong and Paris/New York chic. A wardrobe of fundamental, timeless pieces designed for a feminine, active life. Catherine Malandrino's classic dress-making techniques of draping, shirring and a unique cut to accentuate the curves of a woman's body are applied to the iconic Lacoste polo. We're huge fans of so many things in the collection—the off-the-shoulder slogan T-shirt that proclaims, "The Crocodile Loves You," the adorable pleated tennis dresses, and the slouchy draped cardigans. But most of all? We adore the logo—two crocs kissing! Check out a official site for a super-duper-cute animation of the two crocodiles meeting and falling in love. Awwww.
