For Impulse Electronics: Boston's Best Buy Vending Machine

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

You can already buy disposable ballet flats, holiday gifts, Body Shop toiletries and Proactiv solution from vending machines (who wants to be seen swiping their Visa at an machine devoted solely to zit cream in the middle of a mall promenade is absolutely beyond us)—why not digital cameras and portable video game systems? This thing—a Best Buy Express, apparently—is located in the Mandarin Oriental end of Back Bay Boston's Prudential Center. Word to the wise: You'll need more than quarters and nickels.
