Rumblings and rumors have been swirling for weeks—it seems Ikram Goldman, the beaded, head-banded proprietor Chicago's Ikram, is out as Michelle Obama's personal wardrobe guru. The new guard, reports the Washington Post, is Meredith Koop, a 29-year-old Midwesterner who graduated from her Vanderbilt sorority life before learning the fashion ropes from Goldman herself. Koop, now a White House employee and personal assistant, has made no comment—nor has Goldman. But, speculation started back in December and came to a head over Obama's Alexander McQueen incident last month. The major shift: First lady fashions are no longer coming through Ikram but, instead, on spec from designers directly to the White House. Isn't that how we all shop? [Washington Post]
