More details are emerging about those 20-or-so bloggers Tumblr is bringing to New York Fashion Week. We've heard plenty of rumors over the past couple of weeks—mostly speculation about who the bloggers are, how a blogging platform would secure 20 tickets to limited-space shows, where the bloggers would be sitting at the shows, and how much free stuff would be foisted upon them all week. Today, the Wall Street Journal unveils some more details about the project. Here are some points we've gleaned from the story:
· Tumblr was able to "snag 24 passes to each of more than a dozen shows, including big names like Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta." They've also all been granted access to Rebecca Minkoff
· Two dozen Tumblr fashion bloggers are coming to town and being housed in a hotel (we're hearing that they'll be housed at the swish Gramercy Park Hotel), from which they'll be shuttled to dinners, backstage tours, and parties.
· Two NYFW-attending Tumblr bloggers named in the WSJ story are Jessica Quirk, from Indiana, who has her husband photograph her daily for her blog What I Wore; and John Jannuzzi, whose blog Textbook "re-imagines historical and fictional characters in current fashions."
