Banks are So Annoying

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We don't know whether this is ever going to come to fruition, but it's really annoying to speculate about: Banks are thinking about limited debit card purchases to $50. "JPMorgan Chase, one of the nation's largest banks, is considering capping debit card transactions at either $50 or $100, according to a source with knowledge of the proposal," reports CNN. Hey banks, don't be surprised to see a mass exodus of customers if this rule is enacted. Sometimes banks are so annoying we wish we could just keep our money in a shoebox under our bed. Just kidding, please don't rob us. [CNN]
