Out and about at fashion week or popping by industry events, stylist and television personality Robert Verdi is always instantly recognizable. And while most people know him from his many years on TV and his status as a front-row fixture, if you sent someone who had absolutely no clue into a crowd to look for Verdi you could tell them to look for a "bald man with sunglasses propped on top of his head" and, well, there's pretty much a 100% chance they'd find him.
Sunglasses on top of bald head: that's Robert Verdi's signature look, no?
So we were surprised, while sifting through the hundreds of photos from the Melbourne Fashion Festival to come across images of designer Alex Perry—self-described as "Australia's most glamorous designer"—another bald man in fashion whose signature look also appears to be sunglasses-perched-atop-bald-head.
Two is a trend: Is the sunglasses-perched-on-bald head a burgeoning trend? What will we ever do if Alex Perry and Robert Verdi are in the same room and we need to send a non-industry person in to find one of them? These are the questions we are grappling with on this swift-news-day afternoon.
