Alistair Carr to head up Pringle

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

One of our favorite designers (and people) Alistair Carr has been appointed the design director of Pringle of Scotland. Carr was previously a head designer at Balenciaga, and has worked at Chloe, Marni, and Cacharel. He completed his MA Fashion at Central St. Martins in 2003 and showed his own, eponymous collection for three seasons at London Fashion Week. Carr's first collection for Pringle will be Spring 2012.
