Whew, what a week of off-the-runway Paris drama! Here's to Vivienne Westwood, whose drama this season was all on-the-runway. And here are some of our favorite stories from the past five days—in all their Galliano-tainted glory. It all started on Sunday night, during a very boring Oscars telecast, when The Sun uncovered a video of John Galliano declaring his love for Hitler; then someone else came forward to file a complaint against the Dior designer; then The Outnet had its 80%-off Balmain sale; then Galliano had to report to the police station to face his accusers; Natalie Portman condemned him; and then Galliano got fired. He later apologized and checked into rehab in Arizona.
In the meanwhile, Lady Gaga released a music video which starred our new favorite person, Zombie Boy; the Balmain creative director disappeared, allegedly into a mental hospital; everyone gossiped about who'd take Galliano's job at Dior; and we watched this spoof video of Muammar Gaddafi talking about LL Bean. All hail LL Bean!
Some inspiring stuff also happened this week: Prabal Gurung talked about how he used to get bullied, but now he's a famous designer; Joe Zee's new reality show got a detailed treatment; Garance Dore gave us all tips on how to get photographed on the street; and Ugg announced the fall launch of a luxe-Ugg line, where everything will cost $500 to $1,195. Just goes to show that anything is possible.
