The horrific, ongoing trial of two NYPD officers, Kenneth Moreno and Franklin Mata who stand accused of raping a 29-year old fashion executive in her East Village apartment after being called to escort her home because she was too drunk to make it on her own enters darker and darker territory. Today, the lawyer for the defense will question the alleged victim. The NY Post reports: "Moreno, 43, and his partner, accused accomplice and lookout Officer Franklin Mata, 27, face up to 25 years prison if found guilty of first degree rape under the theory that the woman was so passed-out drunk that she was physically unable to consent when the older cop allegedly attacked her on her bed."
