Lauren Conrad to Launch a Beauty Site Called The Beauty Department

Ever wonder what happened to Lauren Conrad, erstwhile star of The Hills and designer of many clothing lines? The star seems to be doing well—despite failing to launch yet another reality TV series, we hear she's just inked a three-book deal, and now, it looks like the reality TV star is getting into the beauty-blog-new-media game with the launch of TheBeautyDepartment.com. Conrad told Allure: "The site will offer beauty tips: how to do the hottest runway tricks. How to wear purple eyeliner. How to do beach curls. The idea is to eventually roll out a cosmetics and hair line." She joins her other ex-Hills star Lo Bosworth on the internet. Last year Bosworth launched TheLoDown.com, where she talks about fashion and lifestyle and dispenses advice to her readers.
