Sneak Peek: Here's What's Coming to American Eagle This Fall

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This morning, we stopped by the American Eagle Outfitters showroom to check out what the company will be stocking its stores with come fall—and wow, we were really pleasantly surprised. Every season we usually think about AE in terms of basics—we're big fans of the brand's super-soft T-shirts, totally affordable denim cut-offs, ultra-casual pull-on sweaters, match-everything weekend shoes, and socks (we cannot overstate our love of AE socks). But for fall, while AE remains true to its super-casual, waaay-comfortable, mix-and-match m.o., there are some seriously surprising offerings that we're going to call must-haves.

Check out our mondo gallery, above—we can't wait to get our hands on American Eagle's fall ankle boots (both the lace-up and the zip-up), which look really amazing in person, especially considering they'll be priced under-$50. Other key pieces we're excited about: the pale grey motocross-inspired suede vest which comes with a detachable faux-shearling collar, the super-fun colorful rolling luggage, and the very trendy cross-body leather bags. How is it not even summer yet and we're already pining for fall?
