Iconic British brand Burberry has just opened a 12,500 square foot store at Sparkle Roll Plaza in Beijing, and the fashion house will be celebrating the grand opening on April 13th with one of the most ambitious fashion-meets-technology shows, um, pretty much ever.
Burberry will take over the Beijing Television Centre, a 21,500 square foot sound stage that broadcasts to more than 90 million people everyday, and will put on a show featuring headlining band Keane, top models, virtual image technology, and life-like holograms.
“I love the creativity, vibrancy and history of China with its exciting and dynamic energy," Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey said in a statement, "and it is a huge privilege to be flying the flag for Britain in the magnificent city of Beijing connecting all of our global communities to celebrate everything Burberry represents today from music, to heritage and innovation."
If you're not in China for the celebration, no worries. The event will be streamed live, globally, through Burberry.com and at more than 50 retail theaters in Burberry stores around the world.
