TOP SECRET: The Details on the Missoni x Target Collaboration

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Earlier today, we had the privilege of stopping by the press preview for the recently announced and interest-peaking Missoni x Target collaboration that will officially launch on the seemingly very far away September 13th. While we want to tell you every single little detail about the collaboration (believe us, our notes are incredibly comprehensive), we have been forbidden to do so by the Tar-jay powers that be. As for photos, forget about it—we weren't even allowed any iPhone shots "for reference".

But, what we can confirm is yes, the collab is a full-on lifestyle line featuring every category under the sun (womenswear, menswear, kiddie-wear, footwear and accessories, bed, bath, home, office, travel, you name it). So basically, if you want to Missoni-out your entire apartment/home/life, go crazy. Also, for those scratching your heads thinking "what on earth could cost $599.99 at Target"? Well, what we can say is that in the greater scheme of things, it is actually a pretty good deal.

[ED NOTE: We have leeway to tell you that the $599.99 Missoni for Target item is an omg patio set. Yes. Missoni furniture. Are you dying yet? It's amazing. Oh, and there are bikes. Missoni bikes!]

As for our thoughts, yes, we were pretty impressed and our notes also serve as our shopping list come September. We even happened to overhear Teen Vogue editor-in-chief (and occasional now-defunct-The Hills cameo guest star) Amy Astley telling a Target exec, "Amazed. Speechless". So there you have it and hey, Target, we didn't even say it! Of course, the true litmus test is whether or not our dear Love, Frank will be swayed.
