The UWS gets a little more glamorous as Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz has signed for a $6.2 million pied-à-terre. Our first thought was that Alber must've really enjoyed his H&M spectacular in NY last year with the launch of the Lanvin collab, but no; the real reason for his move from Big Apple renter to owner is simple. He fell in love with a building. The Apthorp, to be precise: "I just went there and there was something about the apartment, the ceilings, the moldings. The whole thing, it was almost majestic.” Aww. So, we'll see you at the bodega buying Q-tips, Alber? [NYT]
