Queen Latifah will launch The Queen collection—a line of clothing and accessories—on HSN this August.WWD reports that all apparel will be priced under $100 and leather goods—such as handbags and outerwear—will cost between $170 and $300 at the label's August 27th on-air debut. "“I love Ralph Lauren, just as a designer,” Latifah told WWD. “I still think he could make some better sizes with his clothes, but I like the idea of his classic American style. I also love Donna Karan. She is someone who always understood a woman’s body and mastered clothing that makes women feel beautiful, no matter what their shape or size. I work with Carmen Marc Valvo, who is fantastic. Badgley Mischka did a great Oscar gown for me. I love Marina Rinaldi, the Italian company that makes clothes for curvaceous women like myself. Of course, I love the Pradas, the Guccis and the Louis.” Hm, may we humbly suggest she listen to our summer fashion anthem? [WWD]
