There's a great non-subscription story in WWD today about online retailers launching editorial content—and poaching writers and editors from top publications to run 'em. The story points to Gilt's newest launch, Gilt Taste, and its new editor Ruth Reichl, formerly of the New York Times and Gourmet. According to WWD, Gilt has hired more than 20 people from more traditional publishing companies, with about five going to editorial roles.
