Is Kim Kardashian's 20.5 Carat Diamond Engagement Ring Really a Relic Left Over From Her Reggie Bush Days?

Does reality TV star Kim Kardashian's new 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring look familiar to you? If you're an avid Kardashian fan, it might. An eagle-eyed Racked tipster points us to this 2009 photo of Kardashian wearing an eerily similar jewel—back when she thought she and ex-beau Reggie Bush were destined to walk down the aisle.

On June 1, 2009, the New York Daily News reported that Kardashian had already gone engagement ring shopping ahead of an expected Bush proposal.

"It's just easier," she tells E! Online. "Isn't it easy if someone's like, 'This is exactly what I want.' It'll make your life so easy."

"She found one the other day and she was like, 'It's only $20 million,'" Kourtney says. Kim, 28, says the extravagant price is only an elaboration that will have Bush relieved.

She says, "I exaggerated a bit so that when he went in, he would feel like he's getting a good deal."

That same say, celebrity and pop culture website Blippitt published photographs of Kardashian driving and walking around Los Angeles with a giant sparkler on her right hand ring finger—a ring that looks startlingly similar to her current 20.5 carat Schwartz sparkler. Though Kardashian did tell People magazine that the Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring is modeled after a piece of Macy's costume jewelry she bought "in high school," we're not sure that Kardashian the reality star was still sporting a piece of decades-old high school costume jewelry back when she was already a bona fide celebrity in 2009.
