Brainy Beauty Product: Almay's Makeup Eraser Sticks/Cotton Swabs

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Last week we got a sneak peek sample of Almay's Makeup Eraser Sticks ($5.50), which are scheduled to launch on June 1st—and we couldn't wait any longer to tell you about them because this product is one of those super-simple things that's brilliant and we can't believe no one thought of this before now.

You know certain kinds of eye makeup tend to migrate as soon as you apply them? Like, mascara, for example, always gets all over our eyelids and powder eyeshadows can drift down to your undereye area? Usually this sort of minor daily mishap sends us on a multi-product hunt through our makeup bag for eye makeup remover and Q-Tips—which we gingerly dip into the remover and use to swab away the mess.

Well, thanks to the folks at Almay, all we need now is this one little case (hello, great for travel or for throwing in your purse for touch-ups on the go!) because the tubes on these cotton swabs come pre-filled with oil-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free makeup-remover. All you need to do is snap one end so the liquid flows into the other end, and voila, a handy eye-makeup (or any makeup, for that matter) corrector. No mess, no bottles, no face-washing-and-starting-all-over-again. We give this two thumbs up.
