Coach Classic Handbag Relaunch Goes Live on Net-a-Porter at 8 a.m.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In what we're predicting is going to be a big movement in the near future—after all, how many new designer collaborations can one fashion industry stomach?—Coach has teamed up with Net-a-Porter to re-release a selection of classic handbags from its 1970s archives (two is a trend: see the Jimmy Choo re-releases announced this morning). If you're keen to get your hands on a classic Coach from the 20th century, we suggest setting your alarms pretty early tomorrow—the five-bag collection will go live on at 8 a.m. ET sharp.

“The Coach designs from this era were seminal in defining our approach to great American style,” said Reed Krakoff, President and Executive Creative Director for Coach, in a statement. “Heritage is our hallmark, so we’re pleased to reintroduce these iconic bags."

The five bags in the Coach Classic Net-a-Porter collection include a Madison satchel, a Stewardess bag, a Duffle, a shoulder purse, and the Field bag. The handbags are priced from $298 for the shoulder purse to $498 for the field bag.
