Despite being of of Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage, it appears that fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has been named an official ambassador for Mexico City. No, really, we just got a press release about it so it must be true. The press statement reads:
Mexico City just got a bit more stylish! This week, they have announced Oscar de la Renta as their Tourism Ambassador see release below [Ed note: The "release below" was about some shops in Mexico City and had no further info on the OdlR appointment]. This comes as no surprise as Mexico City has long been known as the lifestyle capital of Latin America.Well, then, there you have it. We're not entirely sure what de la Renta's connection is to Mexico City or what he'll be doing as the city's official tourism ambassador. Will he be showing in Mexico City? What does this all mean? We'll keep you posted if we get any further explanation.
