Polly Blitzer is a ten year veteran of the beauty industry and founder of BeautyBlitz, a premiere online beauty intel destination. On August 9th, 2008, she married Mark Wolkstein, now a managing partner at Expert Network Group (ENG)—their wedding was featured in the New York Times. One thing that the Times didn't write about? Blitzer's botched self-tanning job. How did this happen—especially to a top beauty editor? She gives us the scoop:
Who wore unintentional ombre skin to her wedding? This girl. A beauty editor always has her checklist before for a big occasion—and my wedding was no different. So, there you go. The lesson? Don't wash your hands before the big day, on pain of winding up with ombre arms.Spray tan? Check. Mani-pedi? Check. Facial? Check. Hair and makeup? Ted Gibson and Mally Roncal had those areas beyond covered. So how, you might ask, did I wind up with white hands and forearms on an otherwise perfectly bronzed body? I washed my hands several times during the 20 hours between my airbrush appointment and the wedding.
