Taylor Momsen to Samantha Thavasa

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In case you were wondering (or, uh, worried) about what's happened to wildchild Taylor Momsen following her "indefinite hiatus" from Gossip Girl, well, worry no more. Momsen has gone where other seemingly unemployable celebutantes have often wound up in the past: onto Samantha Thavasa's payroll in Japan. The Cut reports: "In her role as promotional model, Momsen appeared at a promotional event in Japan for the line over the weekend, where she publicly fondled the brand's handbags and did an interview where she awkwardly explained that she doesn't follow trends, personally, but is excited about long skirts being the new "thing" because they will balance out her usual pantslessness."
