Just released: the behind-the-scenes creation video and campaign images of the new fall-winter 2012 Chanel Prestige Collection eyewear. We're kind of excited about the new season because the glasses feature—wait for it—the iconic Chanel chains. This past season, Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld decided to incorporate signature elements of the company's handbag design into its eyewear—so spring's specs featured pearls, quilting, camellia accents, and buttons. For fall, the classic Chanel chain is woven with a strip of lambskin (soooo Chanel 2.55, no?) to create the temple embellishment on the glasses. We're obsessed.
Check out the making-of video, featuring a hard-at-work Karl, and the final ad campaign images, after the jump.
Here's the creation video—featuring footage of Karl at work and film of a craftsman soddering Chanel chains to the side of a pair of frames:
And the Lagerfeld-photographed fall Prestige Collection eyewear campaign, starring the inimitable Claudia Schiffer.
