Brooks Brothers, the bastion of all things preppy, has announced that this August, it will release a line of licensed collegiate apparel bearing the school colors and insignias of 15 American colleges—Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, NYU, Alabama, Auburn, BC, Georgetown, Georgia, US Naval Academy, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Virginia.
“The key for us is re-establishing our connection with what we call the college community—students, faculty and alumni,” Karl Haller, the company's VP of strategy and business development told Bloomberg. “We have a pretty well-educated customer and there’s a built-in opportunity with alumni who are already our customer base.”
Brooks Brothers' Ivy League and NYU college merch will be available exclusively at the label's Madison Avenue flagship in Manhattan (a.k.a. the preppy mothership) and online at BrooksBrothers.com. Other schools' licensed merch will be available at college bookstores and local Brooks Brothers retailers.
