Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Last night, we headed over to The Darby Downstairs—the way-cooler-than-school lounge on the lower level of New York's most-buzzed-about supper club The Darby—for the Scoop-hosted dinner to celebrate shoe designer Alejandro Ingelmo's CFDA Award nomination.
Ingelmo—who we love, and not just because he is drop dead gorgeous (hello, see above) but because he's brilliantly talented and his shoes are to die for—is up for this year's Swarovski Award for Accessory Design. He's pitted against the likes of Jason Wu, Eddie Borgo, and Pamela Love.
We're rooting for Ingelmo—not that we don't adore Wu, Borgo, and Love too—and lots of friends-of-Alejandro turned out at last night's dinner party to support his nomination as well.
Alongside host Susan Davidson, the CEO of Scoop, were Vogue's Entertainment Editor Jill Demling and Vogue's Market Director Meredith Melling Burke, V magazine's Fashion Editor Jay Massacret, Surface magazine's Fashion Editor Gregory Wein, Jenne Lombardo, GQ Senior Fashion Editor Brian Coats, and Karen Mulligan—who, along with Demling, co-founded the super-cool surf-girl line Pret-a-Surf.
