Being the label whores we are, we just can't resist a flagrantly branded flip-flop. In all seriousness, we blame Havaianas. Before Opening Ceremony brought the ubiquitous Brazilian sandals Stateside (years ago), we were perfectly contented with some anonymous $1 Old Navy or $14 no-logo J. Crew versions. Post-Havaianas? Our collection has run the flip-flop gamut—everything from FitFlop to Reef to Jack Wills to more Havaianas. Really, how else will other people know we shelled out $20 or more on a simple pair of rubber thong shoes?
This week, our must-have flipper-floppers are Tretorn's brand-new Tidvattens. They're $25, available at Tretorn stores and at Tretorn.com, and are made from the same PVC-free rubber that's in the Swedish brand's rubber boots. We want a pair in every color!
