After her star-making turn in the 2007 hit Hairspray, actress Nikki Blonsky seemed to be on the up-and-up—that is, until her television series, Huge, about a teen fat camp, was cancelled. Since then, it's been hard-times for the 22-year old star—so hard, in fact, that she's had to take on a day job... in a shoe store.
As of last week, Blonsky has been working the sales floor at Steven Dann, an upscale shoe store in Great Neck, New York, that sells labels including Giuseppe Zanotti, Casadei, Tory Burch, and Valentino.
"Steven says she's one of the best employees he's ever had!" a store source told E! Online. "Nikki had known Steven for a long time. When she started her career she got shoes, bags and accessories from the store for red carpets but recently approached him about working at the store."
E!'s source says that Blonsky's stint in footwear is only temporary—that she's currently planning a project that will "catapult her career." In the meantime, if you're looking to get a little star sighting in on Long Island, you know which shoe store to visit.
