Last night, MAC Cosmetics threw a cocktail party to toast their upcoming collaboration with designer, Gareth Pugh. The event was held at The New Museum's Sky Bar and featured a variety of drinks, hors d'oeuvres, desserts and music with guests and staff alike wearing pieces from Pugh's collections.
The much anticipated line, which is due out in November, was a natural step for Pugh. "They have supported me from the very beginning really...It's the idea of more of an extension of what I do. What I do [with my own work] is still quite specific. So, it's nice to be able to offer something that anybody can access, even my mother."
Pugh memorably collaborated with MAC on the runway in 2010 for his Goddesses from the Grave show when using airbrushed foundation to give the models gray skin tones and pale lips and eyes. Many are curious to see if he incorporates more color into this line. "I intentionally don’t focus on color with my own work. But working with MAC is all about color. What we ended up with is very versatile. It is really beautiful and I am so happy with it."
The line will be hitting stores world-wide this November. Click through our gallery for scenes from the evening. —Payton Wang
