Last night we sipped on bellinis and dined on filet mignon at Cipriani's Wall Street location as our elbows rubbed with the city's finest. Sure there was Tinsley Mortimer and a Gossip Girl, er guy, Matthew Settle at the table next to us, but we were most excited to meet the Manchester United football team: Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand, Chicharito, Nani, Michael Owen, Ashley Young, Ryan Giggs, Fabio da Silva, Rafael da Silva, Wayne Rooney, Ji Sung Park, Michael Carrick, and Rio Ferdinand.

What was the occasion for this swank affair? Hublot sponsored a sit-down dinner, runway show featuring their watches of course, and charity auction—conducted by a Sotheby's auctioneer—to benefit the Manchester United Foundation. The foundation believes football is a powerful tool. They seek to inspire, encourage, and help disadvantaged children through skills training, personal development, and good ole football coaching.

One of the highlights of the evening was seeing the fashion show interspersed with Man U players modeling Hublot's latest timepieces from the 2011 collection. We must say some of the guys did a smashing job of keeping the audience entertained. We wouldn't be surprised if some of them followed in Beckham's footsteps and took on an ad campaign here or there. But first things first, the guys have a match tomorrow. Go Man U!
