Every time we think we're free from the shackles of lusting after various expensive It-Bags, another hot new product comes along to tempt us again. This September it's going to be Chanel's Boy Bag, an androgynous venture inspired by Coco Chanel's polo-playing suitor Boy Capel and supposedly "far removed from the conventional feminine clichés." In moving away from the traditional lady-like elegance of the 2.55 and other classic Chanel styles, it'd seem that Chanel are attempting to appeal to the same big-spenders who snatch up the gender-neutral luxury of Proenza Schouler's PS1 or the Balenciaga motorcycle bag. Look out for this one on the shoulders of downtown types as well as Chanel's usual default fans — apparently British socialite and model Poppy Delevigne already has hers.
The Chanel Boy bag will be available in three sizes and five colors: red, grey, ivory calfskin, black and green. Prices will start at $2,500. —Ana Kinsella
