Vogue recently asked American designers to pick their favorite style icons, and if nothing else, the list is pretty eclectic. There were the obvious choices—Michael Kors chose Michelle Obama, David Neville chose Gisele Bündchen—and a wild card (or two) thrown in there. Tommy Hilfiger couldn't pick just one female pop star, so he picked the very un-preppy Katy Perry, as well as Taylor Swift. And Derek Lam voted for Willow Smith, naming her the girl with "unblemished optimism, with the whole wide world open to her possibilities and abilities." Not to mention supreme hair-whipping skills.
