Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
One of our favorite new brands to launch in the past year is BHLDN, the wedding retailer created by the folks at Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. After six months of doing a swift online-only trade, BHLDN took a leap and opened its first-ever brick-and-mortar location yesterday at the Highland Village shopping center in Houston, Texas. The corner space houses dresses, gowns, apparel, shoes, and accessories from the BHLDN collection, and the store is decorated with reclaimed antiques—spanning decades and centuries.
"The shop will allow us to engage with our customer in a way which complements our online conversation with her," Kristin Norris, the brand's managing director, said in a statement. "It will be a place where she can experience our sensibility and point of view, richly and in person."
Check out our photo peek inside the brand-new BHLDN Houston flagship, above. Next up? A brick-and-mortar location in Chicago—make sure to keep tabs on our sister site Racked Chicago, they've been keeping tabs on building progress.
