3 Outfits to Buy For Summer's Last Hurrah: Labor Day Weekend

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Fall is fast approaching, which means that next weekend could be your last chance to really get some beach in. And with this weekend's tumultuous weather on the East Coast, we're looking that much more forward to when the sun peeks back out after the storm. For Labor Day, we hope you're doing what everyone else is: Buying a whole bunch of new stuff to wear during summer's last real excuse for a vacation. After all, you have a half-day Friday, don't you? And Monday off? Here are our picks for three outfits to buy for your shore-bound travels, which include sandals, sunglasses, and a tiny PS1.

· Outfit #1
Wkshp Chevron crop tank, $40 at Les Pommettes
Topshop "Moto Cerise" high-waisted shorts, $66 at Topshop
K. Jacques pour Opening Ceremony "Corvette" sandal, $270 at Opening Ceremony
Bottega Veneta large "Intrecciato" tote, $3,480 at Barneys

For a day spent just hanging out in the sun, a crop top and a pair of high-waisted shorts is a no-brainer—and a safe way to embrace the trend without having your entire torso out in the open. And sure, you're probably not going to buy a $3,480 Bottega bag just for this trip, but hey, wouldn't it be nice?

· Outfit #2
Oak "Pin Front" romper, $108 at Oak
House of Harlow 1960 "Sasha" sunglasses, $149 at The Trend Boutique
Bambola bikini, $100 at Conleys
Asos premium leather shopper, $112 at Asos

Because where else can you wear a romper that will expose your butt this much (the American Apparel fitting room doesn't count) other than the beach? Show some skin and try your luck again once more at getting that tan in this hot pink two-piece. Top the whole thing off with these House of Harlow 1960 shades, so the ear tassels (is that what we're calling them?) can sparkle in the midday sun.

· Outfit #3
Miss Selfridge blue crop shirt, $41 at Miss Selfridge
Topshop Boutique silk maxi skirt, $200 at Topshiop
Proenza Schouler "PS1 Mini CB," $1,495 at Cult Status
Chloé leather wedges, $595 at Net-a-Porter

For an outfit you can wear at night that's not too dressy—you are, after all, on vacation—how about a long Topshop maxi skirt, paired with a button-down blouse? And then of course, that baby PS1.
