Well here's a fascinating fashion-beauty tie-in we'd never have guessed. Essie, one of our favorite nail polish companies, has created a fall color collection that's inspired by post-war 1940s and 1950s handbag colors.
"The first thing a person notices when they meet you for the first time are: your shoes, your handbag, and your nails," says Essie Weingarten, the company's founder. "The accessories that you wear and carry say so much about who you are and who you want to be."
The fall color palette includes the colors Carry On, a mulberry-merlot; Glamour Purse, an almond blush; Case Study, a rich camel beige; Power Clutch, a dark green; Very Structured, a burnt siena; and Lady Like, a soft pink. Look for them later this month at at store near you.
