Naturally, There Were Tons of Karl Lagerfeld Portaits at the Preview For His Macy's Collaboration

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

At the preview for Karl Lagerfeld's collaboration with Macy's-brand Impulse last night, we were able to get an idea at what a collection influenced by Karl's personal style actually looks like. The result: There were definitely collars, blacks, and whites—no doubt about that. But then there were fuschia tops, light pink flowy dresses, and floral prints. The softer side of Karl.

Perhaps the best part of the whole thing were the zillions of portraits of the designer that were all over the walls. Made it feel like he was right there with you. To refresh, the collection hits Macy's on August 31, and is priced between $50 to $170. Have a peek at the lookbook after the jump to scope out the goods.
