Remember what a huuuge deal Desperate Housewives was in its first few seasons? That show had the cover of every magazine, tons of product placement, loads of inches in newspapers and blogs all around the world. While the hype has significantly dropped off over the past few years—the show has been on the air for seven seasons, after all—it's sad news today that ABC will cancel Desperate Housewives after its eight season airs, in May 2012.
