Nue by Shani's Slimming Dresses Go On Sale at Ideeli at Noon

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Have you ever wondered why designers don't go out of their way to make clothes that are flattering? Sure, we love a good trend. And new silhouettes, fabrications, and avant garde cuts are fun and cool, but sometimes (okay, most of the time), all we want to wear on a normal day at the office (or hanging out with friends or on a date) is a flattering, slimming, attractive, straightforward look.

So say hello to Nue by Shani. Designer Shani Grosz spent 18 months designing a collection of dresses that are bright, bold, and, above all, slimming. While she might not yet be a household name, her label is sold in more than 44 countries—and the Queen of Everything Oprah Winfrey even wore a Nue by Shani dress on the cover of O Magazine earlier this year.

Today, for the first time ever, Nue by Shani's super-slimming dresses will be available at a steep discount—up to 65% off retail, so, priced between $69 and $129—at members-only flash sale site Ideeli. The sale goes live at noon ET (11 a.m. for First Row special-access members) and will go on for only 40 hours. Check out which styles will be on sale in our photo gallery. Our favorite look? The timeless, belted, tailored red dress, above.
