Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Today marks the launch of Park & Bond, a full-priced menswear site from the handsome staff over at Gilt Groupe Inc. The site goes beyond existing solely as a shopping destination by including an advice and how-to column (tackling all male fashion-related conundrums, like how to get a good tie dimple, how to pack a suit in a carry-on bag, etc.), Q&As, and recommendations on food and drink. So pretty much, it's the be all end all of a man's Internet. Well, almost.
This afternoon, we had a chance to preview the site at a lunch at Il Buco—on Bond Street, by the way—just an hour before it went live and were mighty impressed. Mainly, because it appeals to both the sharp-dressed men that we know (those in fashion) and the not so sharp (those not in fashion). With full-look examples and the option to purchase an item directly off of the model wearing it, it's pretty easy.
As of now, there's over 100 brands stocked on the site, including heavyweights like Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garçons, Rick Owens, and Thom Browne, and others that are a little more accessible for the man who may be slightly more timid, like J.Crew and Vince. Bonus: There's currently a free shipping thing going on.
