J. Crew is packing up and shipping out—the beloved American retailer is opening its first store outside of the US in Toronto on August 18th. Also, good news for China and Japan! “We are exploring partnerships in China, and we are also exploring some Japanese relationships,” Chairman and CEO Millard “Mickey” Drexler told WWD. The company is also interested in opening up to nine stores in the UK in the next few years. “If there is a landlord in the U.K. willing to give us an extremely attractive lease in a very desirable location, we are ready to chat." J. Crew will launch online sales to Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, and Australia later this year. [WWD]
