Would You Pay $1,000,000 For a DKNY Perfume? Even For Charity?

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This DKNY Golden Delicious bottle of perfume is carved from 14-karat gold and covered in 2,909 precious stones—including a 1.65 carat Turquoise Paraiba Tourmaline, a 7.18 carat Sapphire, 15 pink diamonds totalling 1.28 carats, 4 rose-cut diamonds totalling 0.32 carats, a 4.03 carat pear shape diamond, and a 3.07 carat ruby. It was created in collaboration with designer Martin Katz and, oh, it's going for $1,000,000.

All the net proceeds from the sale of this million-dollar perfume will go to benefit Action Against Hunger, an organization dedicated to finding solutions to world hunger. We've included a link the charity, below, just in case you want to help out. And if you want the fragrance, but don't have $1,000,000 to pony up, you can get DKNY Golden Delicious for about $42 at a department store or Sephora near you.
