Inside the Alexander Wang Spring 2012 Show Venue: Pier 94

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Here's our first in a series of posts about the spring 2012 Alexander Wang show, held on the far west side of midtown Manhattan at Pier 94. The Wang team kitted out the raw warehouse space with four giant mirrored walls and black bleachers. Impressive and industrial, the space really perfectly suited the Alexander Wang aesthetic.

Can you see who's in that main shot, above? It's Anna Dello Russo being interviewed on camera; Scott Schuman, a.k.a. The Sartorialist wearing the maroon top and pointing at someone; Lynn Yaeger on the left with the red bob; Teen Vogue's Andrew Bevan in the middle; and Kate Lanphear, super-blonde, on the right.

We're uploading our show video right now and will bring you a recap asap. We also have a sneak peek backstage at Alexander Wang coming tomorrow morning for all you Wang obsessives out there.
