NEW YORK— For the first time ever in recent memory, the powers-that-be at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week have stepped in to cancel a show. "As a result of various concerns raised we have canceled the Guli show on September 15th," said IMG spokesperson Zach Eichman. The Human Rights Watch had been planning protest designer Gulnara Karimova's show because she is the eldest daughter of the president of Uzbekistan who has, according to the New York Post, " as dictator of Uzbekistan has killed, tortured and enslaved thousands of his countrymen for more than 20 years."
EVERYWHERE— Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber finally admits that he wears women's jeans. Life & Style reports: "'I've worn women's jeans before because they fit me. It's not a trend; it's just, whatever works, works.' Justin also responded to the fact that Kanye West (whom the Biebs tells us is his style icon) recently wore a women's sweater: 'It wasn't [so he'd] look like a woman in a sweater; it was just a regular sweater that happened to be a woman's.'"
LONDON— Recently ousted Halston creative director Marios Schwab still has his own eponymous collection to oversee. This season, he's collaborated with the sparkly folks over at Swarovski. There's also a short film for your viewing pleasure.
