Riccardo Tisci's Favorite Ibiza Club is DC10: "It's Like Going to Church"

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z's lifestyle website Life and Times talks to Givenchy Creative Director Riccardo Tisci, who vacationed in Ibiza after Paris men's fashion week. Tisci, as you may recall, designed all the artwork for Jay-Z and Kanye West's new album, Watch the Throne.

Anyway, where does Tisci hang out in Ibiza? A club called DC10. What on earth would possess a very cool grown man to go to a club in Ibiza? Apparently he's been doing it for years—it's "like church":

It’s one of the clubs in Ibiza. I’m not super old, I’m 37, but it used to be much more free and much more underground. I used to go there when I was young and since then?in the last ten years or so, once things got much more “luxury,” this club has managed to stay, umm, ghetto. DJs start there when they are young. On Monday nights, it’s 7am to 2am. It’s this big garage, and it used to be after hours. Now, everyone goes and has the best time. So Monday night, it was like going to the church. Every Monday a new DJ. Everyone I knew was going to be there. I really love music and DJs. So, I spent a lot of time there.
