A newsreel from when Karl Lagerfeld moved in, 2008
EVERYWHERE— Seems like the entire industry is lashing out at Tumblr and its fashion director Rich Tong—who, inexplicably, appears to have never heard of Net-a-Porter. The New York Observer's headline "The Fashion Industry Wants Tumblr to Get its Fucking Act Together" pretty much says it all. For a detailed analysis check out this post at The Social Warrior.
NEW YORK— Meanwhile, our sister site Racked NY has been busy all week posting top-10 lists of all the best Fashion's Night Out places to go and people to see. Our favorite so far? The Top 10 Unexpected Celebrities set to grace stores with their presences this year. Spoiler: #1 is Miss Piggy.
TV LAND— Newscaster Brian Williams apparently has a good eye for style—at least, according to his daughter, Allison. "He goes [to CO-OP at Barneys] often to buy stuff for my mom and me. I’ve never bought my own purse; he just has an eye for them? He’s bought me a couple of Kooba bags in a row."
VERMONT— Meanwhile, our Racked Chicago editor went on a little road trip through the backwoods of Vermont last week. Here's a teaser of what's to come: "We rented our little car and drove up through the northern most island between New York and Vermont in search for the mystical Lagerfeld Estate. Keep your eyes peeled next week for our Lagerfeld Estate series where we'll share with you all the fruity details."
