Since her abrupt departure from under the new regime at Barneys New York, we've been wondering where former fashion director Julie Gilhart was going to land. Today WWD reports that she's heading to Amazon.com. "Gilhart will help shape the fashion point of view and the assortment of designer brands. At Barneys, she played a similar role, discovering new designers and nurturing several such as Alber Elbaz, Proenza Schouler and Olivier Theyskens. She also worked with more established labels such as Helmut Lang, Balenciaga and Goyard." We're excited. Does this mean Amazon.com is about to launch some major luxury designer initiative? Stay tuned. [WWD]
