Project Runway All Stars judge Isaac Mizrahi is starting a clothing line for babies, and WWD reports that the collection will include a black and white grouping for your infant. This is a surprising palette choice, considering, one, Mizrahi is probably best known for his exuberant use of color, and, two, not since Victorian times have parents opted to dress their newborns in funeral-ready black. The designer told WWD that the concept is meant to be a funny take on sophisticated adult clothing. Hopefully consumers will get the joke.
The 25-piece infants’ collection will debut in department and specialty stores in Fall 2012, with girls’ and boys’ clothing planned for later.
