Gap's Summer Line Up Is all About Brights and Stripes

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In case you were concerned that fashion's current love affair with nautical stripes is nearing an end, we can report that they're definitely sticking around for at least one more season. Last night we attended a preview of Gap's summer line-up, and stripes made an appearance in pretty much every incarnation imaginable. Breezy knit dresses, espadrilles, tees, and hats all got the sailor treatment in a palette that went way beyond basic navy—and definitely had us wishing we weren't going to be bundling up under 17 wool layers on our way home. And if things start to get a bit too horizontal, also note worthy was a cute military-green windbreaker from the men's section that would be a nice contrast to all those lines.
