Guys! Guys! Big news: Print is not dead, despite that annoying death rattle you've been hearing over the past 10 or so years. This revelation is brought to you by MediaFinder, which pegs itself as the "largest online database of U.S. and Canadian publications." They found that 155 print titles launched so far in 2012 and only 55 folded. (Compare those numbers to the 151 that launched in 2011 and 119 that folded in the same year.) The president of the database sources print's "revival" to how digital media outlets get paid, or rather, don't get paid: "We're going to have print until people work out the monetization of digital. It's like the new normal." [Crain's NY]
